Cold Yuzu Shio Ramen Returns for Summer 2026

Every year, when summer arrives in Toronto, one question comes up at ramen RAIJIN: “Is the cold yuzu shio back yet?”

The answer in 2026 is yes. It’s back. And it’s available right now.

Cold Yuzu Shio Ramen is our annual summer-only menu item — a chilled ramen built around a house-crafted yuzu shio broth that is light, citrusy, and clean. It’s designed for Toronto summers: the kind of bowl that feels genuinely refreshing, not just cool in temperature.

If you had it in 2025 and came back this year looking for it — welcome back. If this is your first time — here’s what you’re getting into.

What’s in the Bowl

The foundation is the yuzu shio broth — a delicate salt-based stock infused with yuzu citrus. Served cold over noodles, it’s bright without being sharp, and savory without being heavy. Everything else in the bowl is designed to complement that balance.

Toppings

  • Honey Lemon — sweet-tart citrus slices, the centrepiece of the bowl
  • Chicken Cha-shu — soft, juicy, and delicate alongside the light broth
  • Marinated Egg — lightly seasoned, complementing the yuzu notes
  • White & Green Onion — thinly sliced, adding freshness and texture
  • Chili Threads — a subtle touch of heat to finish the bowl

Why Cold Ramen in Toronto?

Toronto summers are short. And they’re warmer than people outside the city expect. Walking into a ramen shop in July and ordering a steaming hot bowl takes a certain kind of dedication — and we respect that dedication every day.

But cold ramen is a genuine tradition in Japan. Hiyashi chuka, cold soba, chilled broths — Japanese food culture has always understood that summer calls for something different. Cold Yuzu Shio Ramen was designed with that in mind: a bowl that holds the same care and craft as our hot ramen, but built for the season you’re actually in.

For Torontonians looking for a cold ramen option in summer 2026 — this is it. There is no other item on our menu designed specifically for the heat of a Toronto summer.

Seasonal & Limited — What You Need to Know

Cold Yuzu Shio Ramen is prepared in limited quantities each day. There is no guarantee it will be available if you arrive later in the evening — earlier in the day gives you the best chance.

It will be on the menu through the summer months. When the season ends, it comes off the menu. No exceptions, no extensions.

That’s what makes it worth coming for.

A note on the annual return: Cold Yuzu Shio Ramen has come back every summer since we introduced it. It’s one of the items our regulars plan around. If you’ve been watching for the announcement — it’s here. If you’re new to ramen RAIJIN this summer, this is the bowl to start with.
